There isn’t actually an official ‘walking street’ in Khanom, Nakhon Si Thammarat but every Saturday a big length of Khanom’s main street is closed to traffic and become one long street bazaar.
It starts around 5 pm and closed around 08.30 pm.
Food-wise you’ll find some usual range of Thai snacks and drinks.
The lack of vehicles and range of items on sale make this a more browser-friendly, and picturesque, market. But if it’s Chang Beer or pirated DVDs you’re after, this is not the place to go.
The walking street is a big hit with locals where they can walk, eat, sit outside and enjoy each others company.
Dusty Gecko from Finnish owner Mikki is a good place to sit outside, watch people enjoying the Walking Street and enjoy inexpensive alcohol and/or food.
